I was walking in a bag store this evening at Berjaya Times Square, it's been ages long since I last stepped in that place. There are more stores now, but all as pricely as ever. The salesgirl came over and spoke in Mandarin about how some of the bags are catered just for students and in-house designed too. Like whatever, I don't even understand Mandarin half my life.
Half way through, she asked me if I understand Cantonese. I said, just a little. And she repeated her sales pitch again. Bo-ring. So I told her that I am no longer a student, I am working. And guess what? Watch the scenario below...
Sales girl: These bags are designed in-house to cater students' needs. They are cool to carry.
Me: It's okay, I am not a student. I am working now.
Sales girl: Working? What are you working as? You are a model?
Laugh out loud in my heart - I have no idea why she thinks a fat bum like me can be a model but she looked really sincere in selling me bags for models after that.
Me: No... no... I am an advertiser. I cover interesting stories in mag.
Sales girl: You must be a hardworking person. It's a Sunday and you are still thinking of work while you hang around.
Me: Well, an advertiser has to explore to know more.
Sales girl: Here's our namecard.
I took the name card and smiled to myself. I love being seen as young and at the same time, giving everyone else a 'wow' effect everytime I tell them that I am an advertiser. Afterall, I do cover interesting stories for all the youths to read. Starting a career at the age of 20 is absolutely delicious.
I love the idea the moment I graduated and my parents know that I'll never further my studies anymore. I made it clear. The most, I will only go for self-upgrade course. Nothing more than that.
P/s: I can't believe I actually think about work during the weekend. Do I really love my job, or does it just comes naturally?
